Incredibly unexciting update

I’m currently working on finishing up stories for three anthologies right now – all invites. Yes, I’m surprised, too! After that, I’ll start the remaining piece needed for the Lethe Press collection – the erotic steampunk novella. Hmm, it’s either going to be a stupendous work of art or a glorious failure. Either way, it should be interesting. And in the free bits of time I have, I’m working on the outline for two novels. Yes, two – and both of them wildly different. One is literary horror set on my favorite campus in eastern Washington State, the other has vampires (shut up) and witches romping through an urban fantasy version of Brooklyn Heights. I couldn’t decide which one to write first, so I’m hoping that as I work my way through the outlines, I’ll figure out which one I want to tackle. If I haven’t made my choice by the time I’m finished with the outlines, then… I’m not sure what I’ll do.

Oh, and I’m also outlining the next novella in my wee Obsidia world, titled “In the Valley of the Shadow of the Train”. There will be sprawling seaports, insanely overpopulated cities within cities (think Kowloon hidden beneath a sky covered in train trestles), the world’s largest communal spider web, and a bisexual teenage wardrobe master (for a traveling theatre company) with a gift for turning embroidered silk fabric into portals and doorways. Doorways to what and where, I do not know. Probably not anyplace good. I’ll find out when I write it.
