New year, fresh start

Let’s not speak of last year, shall we? Yes, let’s not.

1) I’m about 38,000 words into the novel, and according to my schedule I’ll be finished at the end of March. After that, there’ll be two novellas to work on, and then… I’ll start a second novel. This is going to be a story/novelette-free year this year. I’ll talk about this in-depth in another post: the short version is, it’s time to have a novel out in the world – long overdue, actually.

2) I’ve just (as of about 30 minutes ago!) joined SFWA, as an Active Member. For those who are curious, my three qualifying stories are:

** Take Your Daughters to Work – originally published in Subterranean Magazine in 2006, and now online as a reprint at Apex
** The Four Hundred Thousand, published online at Subterranean in 2007
** “Her Deepness”, a 21,000 word dark fantasy/horror novella, which will be published in the winter 2010 issue of Subterranean Online (sometime in late January, I’m thinking)

3) I have news regarding a certain workshop, which I will post at a later date, when I’m allowed. (I think I might already be allowed, I just have to confirm.)

That is all for now. See? This year is SO MUCH BETTER already – eeeeeexcellent.
